Somnath Waghmare, Supugade VB, Sher Khane AS, Ramrao Chavan and Virendra Gomas
Tylocephalum salunkhi n. sp., a parasitic cestode of Trygon sephen, is described based on the type material from Ratnagiri (West Coast Maharashtra, India). The presented worms resemble Tylocephalum marsupium in the presence of all the main morphological characters. The species have an oval scolex, an elongated/rounded rostellum, the presence of four suckers, mature proglottids are wider than the long, rounded testes and a long excretory tube. But they differ in the number of testes. Therefore, this is a newly described species.
